Dry, damaged cuticles: getting a neat outline back

Bits of loose skin, hangnails, dry ridges around the nail: damaged cuticles are not inevitable — they are a tissue that can be cared for, provided you stop cutting them.

The cuticle is not the enemy

The cuticle has a precise role: sealing the junction between the skin and the nail to stop water and microbes from reaching the matrix, where the nail is made. Cutting it with cuticle nippers opens that door — and triggers thicker, more irregular regrowth, with its trail of catching hangnails. Detergents, hand sanitiser and cold do the rest: the tissue dries out, hardens and cracks. The gentle method works in two stages. Exfoliate without cutting first: a keratolytic gel softens excess cuticle in one minute, and a simple cuticle pusher is enough to clear the outline — the same neat result as in a salon, with zero injury. Nourish every day next: panthenol and lipids restore the tissue’s suppleness, hangnails stop forming, and the outline stays neat for good. It’s one of the rare treatments where the result shows from the very first use — and is maintained in thirty seconds a day.

The 3-step routine

1

Exfoliate

Once or twice a week, the Express exfoliating gel: leave on for one minute, gently push back — the outline is neat without cutting anything.

2

Nourish

Every evening, massage the Regenerating wax with 10% panthenol into the nail outline: cuticles regain their suppleness and hangnails disappear.

3

Preserve

To remove polish, the Extra-gentle nail polish remover with lavender and panthenol cleanses without drying out the nail outline.

Frequently asked questions

No: the cuticle protects the nail matrix. Cutting it paves the way for infections and causes thicker regrowth. Gentle exfoliation followed by pushing back gives the same neat result, without risk.

From a dried-out cuticle that cracks: fragments partially come away and catch. By rehydrating the nail outline every day, the tissue stays supple and hangnails stop forming.

Never — you tear the healthy skin deeply, causing pain and a risk of infection. Cut it flush with small, clean scissors, then apply a nourishing treatment.

Once or twice a week is plenty. It’s the daily wax treatment that does the in-depth work; exfoliation is just the periodic reset.
